Charlie Rivel, 1896-1983. José Andreu Lasserre was an internationally known Spanish circus clown. He was born in Cubelles (Barcelona, Spain). His family were street entertainers, and he made his debut at the age of three. Together with his brothers Polo Rivel and René Rivel he formed the group Trio Rivels.
