Dick Tracy was a comic strip created by Chester Gould featuring Dick Tracy, a hardhitting, fast-shooting and intelligent police detective. The strip made its debut in 1931, in the Detroit Mirror. It was distributed by the Chicago Tribune New York News Syndicate. Gould wrote and drew the strip until 1977. From the book “We are all equal”, by Finn Nygaard. Author Elsebeth Aasted Schanz, PhD, Manager and curator of the Danish Poster Museum.
