Jazzhus Montmartre is the historic jazz hotspot of Copenhagen, presenting world class live jazz at the original intimate venue where the famous club started back in 1959.

.

Through the last years Danish bassist Thomas Fonnesbæk has evolved to one of the best and in demand bass players in the world playing and recording with other top artists  such as Enrico Pieranunzi, Lars Jansson, Sinne Eeg, Monty Alexander, Arron Parks – and Justin Kauflinn. Fonnesbaek has synesthesia (the ability to “see” music as colors in his mind). Combined with equillibristic skills on his instrument this make him a remarkable musician. There are no weaknesses in Thomas Fonnesbæk’s playing. A strong melodic, harmonic and rhythmic sense makes him a complete musician. As a composer he is influenced by both the Scandinavian melancholy and the American jazz tradition. (from INMUSIC)

Justin Kauflin is a fascinating and rather new act on the international jazz scene. As a young boy he became blind, and when sports, computer games etc. became impossible, the piano took a central role in his life. Justin Kauflin is a blessed musician, who only needs to hear a song once to learn it while playing with a sensitivity that instantly grabs the attention of the audience. There is a good reason why Quincy Jones has produced both the documentary “Keep On Keepin’ On” about Justin Kauflin’s life and his debut album. (from Jazzhus Montmartre)
