Baroness Karen von Blixen-Finecke, 1885-1962. In addition to her own name, the Danish author Karen Christenze Dinesen was known by her pen name Isak Dinesen. She also wrote under the pen names Osceola and Pierre Andrézel. Blixen is best known for Out of Africa, her account of living in Kenya, for her Seven Gothic Tales, Winter’s Tales and Babette’s Feast.
