Brian Hugh Warner, born 1969, better known by his stage name Marilyn Manson, is an American rock musician, actor, painter, multimedia artist and former music journalist known for his controversial stage persona and image as the lead singer of the eponymous band Marilyn Manson. His stage name was formed by juxtaposing the names of two American cultural icons, the actress Marilyn Monroe and the multiple murder Charles Manson.
