A robot is a mechanical or virtual artificial agent, usually an electro-mechanical machine that is guided by a computer program or electronic circuitry. Robots can replace humans performing repetitive and dangerous tasks. The original robot was the brainchild of the Czech playwright Karel Capek, who introduced it in the 1920 play R.U.R.(Rossum’s Universal Robots). From the book “We are all equal”, by Finn Nygaard.
