Jesus of Nazareth was born in about 7-4 BC and died about 30-33. Also known as Jesus Christ, he is the central figure in Christianity, where he is described as the Son of God. In the Old Testament he is foreseen as the longawaited Messiah. He is also an important figure in Islam, where he is regarded as a prophet, but not as the son of God. Jesus was crucified, a form of execution, and according to the Christian faith died for the salvation of mankind. From the book “We are all equal”, by Finn Nygaard.
