Manga is Japanese and means a cartoon strip. The Japanese artist Osamu Tezuka is considered as the father of modern manga. Inspired by Walt Disney, he published the Astro Boy series after World War II. Interest in manga has spread dramatically since then, and by the end of the 20th century it has practically exploded in Europe as well as Japan. From the book “We are all equal”, by Finn Nygaard.
