The labelling presents no barrier to trade as it is open to both Danish and foreign manufacturers.

The idea is to provide essential, sufficient and properly checked information which is easy to compare so that consumers are able to choose the right goods to suit their immediate requirements, needs, and budget.

Varefakta is a private organization managed by a board with overall responsibility for policy and a secretariat. The Board comprises representatives of among others industry, trade, and consumer organizations.
